VONA Case Management, Inc. was established in 2015 by Ryan Shirley and is based in Daphne, AL. Today, VONA is a team of 100+ employees across the United States. We are a medical case management company that helps injured workers, employers and insurance adjusters navigate through the workers’ compensation process. Our team is professional, results driven, and takes a proactive approach to every case we are involved with. We look to build a deep relationship with our clients to understand their needs and discuss trends we are seeing in regards to their specific company within the industry. We pride ourselves on our open lines of communication and transparency throughout the claims process.

The meaning of VONA is hope, and that is a key element of the company culture. We seek to have a positive impact on everyone we encounter – from our community, to our clients and to the injured workers.

VONA has a broad client base including self-insured companies, TPA’s, insurance companies and the maritime industry. We are a privately held company, which allows us to collaborate with our clients and find solutions that meet their individual needs.

VONA - Ryan Shirley PRESIDENT AND CEO

Ryan Shirley

President and CEO

Ryan Shirley is the founder of VONA Case Management. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Troy State University in 2001 and his Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration from Auburn University in 2003. He started in the workers’ compensation industry in 2007, but has always wanted to start his own business. The opportunity presented itself in 2015 when he made the leap to start VONA. The company has continued to grow, bringing on new staff, expanding to new areas each year and becoming one of the fastest growing companies in the country.

Brenda Kasch, RN, BSN, CCM

Director of Case Management

Brenda Kasch has been with VONA since the beginning, developing the very groundwork for all policies, procedures, and systems in place for VONA case managers. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida and has been in the medical claims industry for 20 years.

Vice President of Sales

Jonathan Simpson has spent several years at the leadership level in a number of industries. He earned his degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix then began a career in sales. He has always been passionate about people so it was a natural transition to the workers compensation industry. He has over seven years’ experience in this industry and has helped grow VONA’s footprint exponentially.

Director of Finance

Donna Johnson joined VONA in February 2019 as Director of Finance, bringing with her 34 years experience in accounting and finance. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in accounting at Mississippi University for Women, her Masters in Business Administration at Mississippi State University and is a Certified Treasury Professional.

VONA is extremely culture-oriented, part of which is to make everyone feel important. Whether you are the client, injured worker, or employee, everyone is important and will have the best experience possible.

Office Manager

Marsha Mitchell has been with VONA since shortly after the company launched in 2015. She provides key support to our field case managers, ensuring that all records, invoices, letters, and any other documents go out in a timely manner.
